WEEKLY NOTES FOR SAT 39th SEPTEMBER

Senior Championship
The Castlehaven senior team bowed out of the championship after
a battling display against Carbery Rangers last Saturday night.
Championship games are decided by fine margins and on the nights
Carbery Rangers got the breaks and took them .
Due to the poor weather conditions goals were going to be vital
and Carbery Rangers got an early goal to lead by to lead by
1-04pts to 0-02pts after 10 minutes .
Castlehaven kicked some fine points before the break and
trailed at half time by 1-08pts to 0-06pts .Castlehaven had plenty
possession for the first 15 minutes after the break but failed to
convert some changes .They cut the deficit to 3 points but
Carbery Rangers got a goal and a point against the run of play
to extend their lead to 0-07 pts .
Castlehaven responded with a goal and three points in the last
10 minutes to leave a goal between the sides . Castlehaven went
all out attack in extra time but Carbery Rangers held on to win by
2-11pts to 1-11pts .
The Castlehaven club would like to thank the players and management
team for their huge efforts between time and traveling to play football for the club .

The Castlehaven U12 team traveled to play Sam Maguires in Dunmanway
on Monday 18th for the semi final of the Cup .
Castlehaven made a great start to the game, playing some excellent football
,to lead by 1-08pts - 0-01pts after 15 minutes. The physically stronger home
side improved as the half progressed scoring 3 goals before the break to lead
at half time by 3-07pts to 1-09pts.
Castlehaven went all out attack after the break to draw level 2-11pts - 3-08pts
10 minutes into the second half . The home side dominated the last 20 minutes
to lead by 0-7pts . Castlehaven never gave up finished the game with a late goal
to cut the deficit to 0-04pts .Sam Maguires held on to win the game by 5-12pts to 3-14pts .
Castlehaven are now in the Plate final to be played next week .

Ladies Football
 
The Castlehaven and Valley Rovers minor ladies shared the points in an excellent
league game last  Friday evening . The visitors lead at half time by 0-08pts to 1-04pts .
The second half was a excellent ,end to end ,with both teams playing attacking football
